

Looked at the connector pins, they look allright. Opened the drives casing, removed the usb board and plugged the drive on a Usb to Sata adapter.ĭirectly plugged the drive on my laptops mobo

Switched operating system (Windows 10 to the latest Ubuntu distro)

What i've tried so far to solve my problem : I carry this drive a lot in my backpack and sometimes I carry a small magnetic pad which I use to stick tiny screws on when I fix electronics, I don't remember if I carried both at the same time and I hope not. I heard that magnets can damage hard drives. It happened overnight and I woke up to this. Drive is not showing in disk management, third-party disk managers, not even in boot options. Hello my external hard drive is unresponsive and the LED indicator is blinking as soon as my computer boots, this is a super important drive and i'm totally panicking right now.
